BeforeI get deep into this. This diaper stands among the top for any size 7/8 diapers. Although they maxout at size 6.
The diaper has a great thickness that Ifind reassuring that it will do its job and creates confidence in.
Now lets be critical. I have tried all major brands and this is what i am comparing to. I also comparing to size 7's or 8's as they run about the same size.
T
The diapers are great they absorb liquid and keep it locked in. This is a huge plus. I have had other brands that fail to do this. However, it was a bit slow off the get go to absorb the liquid and took a moment for it to fully absorb everything that was thrown at it.
Keep in mind my tests are testing extremes and i test the bounds of what is possible. To the full extent.
That being said once the liquid was absorbed the press out was pretty minimal at max capcity. This is huge as some other brands absorb a ton but when you press on them. They will release fluid like a shower. So this is a great job locking in fluid.
This diaper shockingly didnt swell nearly as much as some i had tested for the amount it abosorbed. I personally dont care if a diaper swells or not. If a diaper swells its easier to tell when its on my baby when its time to change if im not proactively checking him. But some can see that as uncomfortable. My baby doesnt care either way. Overall i would say for the amount absorbed the swell was minimal and did a great job!
The size of this diaper is great. Even standard size 7's and 8's are skinnier and shorter than this diaper. The padding area had great surface area. This is good when wanting liquid to absorb quickly. This could also explain why the swell is less as the great wideness allows the padding to swell less while containing the same amount. The size is great for larger toddlers/babys.
Now lets talk about 1 subtle con. We have all had the sap explode out of a diaper at least once. I can say this diaper isnt the best when it comes to contianing it. But its not the worst. I would rate it pretty high though. With normal wear. I would say its unlikely to have issues. But in my tests i found that sap can break out the front top of the diaper with out use of creams or oils. However, this is under extreme circumstances. To simulate this.the diaper would need to be greatly saturated and the sap pinched and pressed against the glue keeping it together. Its not easy so i doubt its a big issue. I have seen much much much worse in big box brands
Now for the specs that i found
Dry size 6 - 45-50 grams
Non saline water max capacity fully saturated - 1000+ ml (this is after press out)*
(The realistic capcity of this diaper is greatly dependent of how hydrated your baby is. Wether they are male or female and how often you change them.)
Guessed realistic capcity
300-600ml
*results may vary
Now if we were to compare this to other brands. I find with my past results match other brands capcity wise. The one thing i found though is that this diaper swelled less than those brands. And this diaper because of the extra padding width will likely be more comfortable for the baby even if the diaper is thicker.
Suggestions for kiddicare.
I would love to see additional capcity added to these diapers. Something that would make you stand out amongst the rest past the way they are packaged. I would love to see an increase in capcity by 200-700ml. I feel like the diaper you created could easily contain it. And would make you as far as my tests go. One of the most absorbent diapers on the market if you made this change. Which is a claim that would be huge.
Also, i would love to see a quicker absorbtion rate! A baby sitting while peeing in a dry diaper in extreme cases could cause your diaper to leak. (This is very unrealistic but also very possible)
Given the high raised leg gathers. Comapred to most diapers yours are fairly high which is great for containing just about anything. What this also means if you added capcity and added some cotton for quicker absorbtion. You still have space to change up the mix to allowe for additional swelling. Which would allow the capcity to grow. Also a swelling diaper tends not to have nearly the press out issue that low swell diapers have. But thats just from my experience
Now overall i graded this diaper a 5/5. This diaper does its job. Its a little pricey for the capcity. But overall the diaper is great.
(Just a not. I paid for this product on my own. I was not asked to try this product. I simply bought it cause i saw an ad. Tried it. And submitted it to tests i do wjth any other diaper i use. I then made a review showing my results. I will not be paid for this review or my experience!)
